About me
I offer therapeutic services to children, adolescents and adults. There are times in life when things can feel overwhelming. and sometimes having someone to talk to, outside of your usual network of family, and friends, can make a huge difference to your wellbeing.
I believe that you are the expert in you, and so I will work alongside you and/or your family to help you make the changes you need to feel in control.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, and further training in Trauma Focused CBT, Family Based Treatment for Eating Disorders, and Narrative Attachment Therapy.
I have completed the BPS Supervision Workshops, and have supervised Counselling Psychology Trainees, Qualified Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists, Art Therapists, and Counsellors.
I have over 10 years experience in the NHS of working with Adults, Children, Adolescents and their families,. Most of my work draws on CBT and psychodynamic models. I am also a strong advocate for self-compassion! Life is hard as it is, and even harder whilst we are in a pandemic, we need to be kind to ourselves, and allow ourselves the space and time to heal.
I have particular experience in working with self-harm and suicidal ideation; eating disorders; depression; anxiety; and trauma.
If you would like to work with me, please head to my website where you can fill in the contact form. I am more than happy to arrange a time to give you a call to offer a brief consultation to discuss your need. Alternatively you can give me a call on the number above.
Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
