About me

Hello, my name is Cheyenne (she/her). I am a person-centred therapist and counsellor. My therapeutic approach values you as a whole person, welcoming you and every part of you, exactly as you are.

I strive to cultivate a therapeutic space that feels accessible, inclusive, and ‘safe enough’ for my clients to reconnect with themselves. Together, we can explore what is happening in your life right now, as well as how past experiences might impact you in the present. We can look at sensitive issues, behaviours, emotions, limiting beliefs, relationship dynamics and more. I offer to support you in navigating through your own diverse experiences with the aim of helping you feel more empowered in your life and develop a greater understanding and acceptance of yourself.

At the core of my person-centred approach, I value that everyone has different needs which can fluctuate at different times. I will not follow an agenda, instead, we will go at your own pace and tailor each session in a way that respects your unique needs and feels most suited to you.

I recognise the vast impact caused by individual and collective attitudes creating stigma, trauma and discrimination - whether in regards to sexuality, gender, relationship styles, race, class, age, neurodiversity, disabilities, body image, and other forms of marginalization and oppression. As your therapist and ally, I will provide a confidential, non-judgmental space to support you in feeling heard, seen and held throughout this process.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a background in psychology and working with communities, both within mental health settings as well as in community spaces.

  • Professional Diploma in Person-centered Counselling and Psychotherapy - Persona Development & Training. During my training, I worked with a range of clients on their experiences of e.g. loss & grief, low self-esteem, childhood trauma, stress, substance-related issues, depression, anxiety (including health anxiety), OCD, relationship issues, boundary setting, burn-out, abuse, and more. I have experience working face-to-face, online (video) and via telephone.
  • MSc in Spirituality, Consciousness and Transpersonal Psychology, with a particular focus on climate-/ eco-grief and ecopsychology - Liverpool John Moores University.
  • BPS-accredited MA (undergrad) in Psychology - University of Glasgow.
  • Microcredentials in Working with Trauma - University of Glasgow.
  • I am currently also doing a certified training in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

You can ask me questions and I will go over some practicalities with you. You do not have to decide during the call whether you would like to work together. Further information

I can offer therapy in English and German.

I welcome therapeutic explorations on individual and collective experiences linked to concerns around the state of the world, such as eco-grief and climate-anxiety.

I also believe we can benefit from learning how to safely feel our emotions through the body. Where appropriate, I offer to explore embodied mindfulness by gently bringing attention to how body and mind interact, inviting clients to notice and explore sensations with curiosity. I recognise not everyone feels safe in their body and it may not always feel accessible so don't worry: this is your space, and we create it in whichever way feels right and available to you.

If you would like to explore aspects of your experiences creatively, I welcome you to bring anything that feels supportive in expressing yourself, including music, writing, etc. Art materials will be provided.
