Chevair Leeding (Adv Dip) MBACP
It can sometimes be difficult to say whats on your mind, being overwhelmed by thoughts and feelings. Most of us experience times in our lives when we feel low, worried or disheartened. I can offer you the opportunity to identify your own personal resources and capabilities, which are sometimes lost in times of confusion and anxiety. I will not make decisions for you, or impose opinions, but will respect your individual needs. Throughout this process, you will be encouraged, supported and empowered to look at yourself from a different perspective. My aim is not only to help you cope with a current issue or crisis, but to do so in a way that produces learning for the future, so that you can feel more in charge of your life.
We all find phases in our lives when we need to reach out for extra support. As a counsellor, I will accept you unconditionally and provide a warm, friendly and trusting environment in which to talk through the worries you may be facing. As every person is a unique individual, I am able to personalise my therapy to suit you and your needs. I am experienced working with individuals; couples; adults and adolescents. I also have experience in supporting transgender people.
Training, qualifications & experience
Advanced Diploma in Counselling - CBT; Transactional Analysis; Psychodynamic; Person-Centred.
Counselling Skills Certification
CBT with Depression Certification
Working with Self-Esteem Certification
I qualified to become a counsellor after spending time raising my family, including my daughter who has Aspergers Syndrome, OCD and a variety of Depression and Anxiety issues. This was a key factor in my decision to become a counsellor, appreciating the difference that talking therapies can make on a persons life, however complex and hopeless it feels at the time.
I am a qualified counsellor with a certificate in counselling skills and an Advanced Diploma in counselling and I am a Member of the BACP. I have experience of counselling both adults and adolescents; individuals and couples. I have also supported transgender people through their transition process.
I have counselled within a Doctors surgery, using cognitive behavioural therapy, psychodynamic counselling and person centred techniques.
Also, I have worked as a counsellor and pupil support worker in a Special Needs School for students with Social, Emotional and Behavioural difficulties.
I currently have a private practice in Southend-On-Sea where I am able to provide professional counselling services in a friendly and comfortable environment, working within the BACPs ethical framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy.
