About me
Hello, I am an experienced Art Psychotherapist registered with HCPC.
I have experience working in the NHS and schools, working with anxiety, low mood, stress, loss, bereavement and trauma.
I provide a confidential, safe, non-judgemental space to explore, reflect and listen.
My primary approach is creative, using art materials with psychodynamic thinking to explore feelings that often relate to past as well as on-going experiences that may have not been resolved or that continue to cause upset. Using art materials can connect us to our unconscious past and often helps us to talk about how we feel when those emotions seem overwhelming. It is ok if you believe you are no good at art as to do Art Therapy, you use the materials to express and work through emotions and difficulties.
It is also ok, to come and just talk and not use art materials.
If you would like to discuss/consult or find out more, please contact me and I am happy to discuss possibilities. I offer both online and face to face work.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have an MA in Art Psychotherapy practice from Sheffield Hallam University.
I have worked within the NHS with adults with neurodiversity and severe mental health difficulties. I have also worked with a variety of different needs including autism and ADD within both primary and secondary schools.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
