Cheryl Hatwell Dip MBACP
Full details of my normal services appear further down this page, however I am updating my profile during this time of uncertainty.
It is to be expected that many of us are feeling incredibly anxious as we find ourselves surrounded by intensely distressing information about this awful pandemic. I am therefore, offering 1:1 telephone or video counselling to explore these or any other issues you may be struggling with.
In addition, in light of our current situation, I am also offering small online wellbeing groups which are intended to provide an opportunity for some much needed respite from what is going on around us. We have come to recognise that we thrive through human interaction and although we cannot meet face to face at the moment, fortunately we have the technology to meet online. I will provide a safe, warm, welcoming and encouraging environment to meet others, chat about various topics and learn helpful distraction and relaxation techniques. So why not, come along and join us. You are all welcome. I will be running groups for both adults and children. Please do get in touch. I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
As many of you have been affected financially by the situation we find ourselves in, I am reducing my 1:1 telephone/video rates slightly to £30 per hour to enable more of you to access wellbeing support. I have also tried to keep the cost of the group chats to a minimum at £10 per hour session.
If you would like to discuss anything further please contact me on 07391 036034. I am still offering a free 30 minute telephone consultation to explore the best option for you.
Please feel free to continue reading through my profile to learn more about me and my practice. I look forward to chatting with you.
Admitting we have unrest in our lives can be a very scary thing - seeking help can be even scarier! Please let me try to allay your fears. I am a human being just like you. I won’t try to blind you with science, I use every-day, easy to understand language. I offer a warm, non-judgemental, professional approach in a calm and relaxing space. As a member of the BACP, I adhere to their strict Code of Practice which includes total confidentiality. Most of us from time to time find ourselves in a difficult situation. Sometimes it feels as though there is no way out. I believe everyone should have hope. My aim is to find out what is important to you and help you get to your desired place of happiness. By opening up new possibilities and teaching you new coping skills, I believe every one of us has the inner resources to reach our goals. Trust me, the world can be your oyster!
I am passionate about my work and genuinely want to help you work through your difficulties to enable you to move on with your life. I regularly attend training courses to develop my skills base and expertise. I believe that as we are all individuals, one size does not fit all therefore I tailor my work to suit you.

I am a member of British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (“BACP”).
I am fully insured.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
I offer hourly sessions at £40 each. I also offer a discounted rate for 4 pre-booked sessions at £150.
I know there is often a desire to be seen quickly and I am usually able to offer an appointment within 7 days.
