I have been Counselling as an integrative practitioner since 2003, providing therapy to private individuals as well as local authorities and organisations across the North West and North Wales. Continuing professional development and a variety of experience has led me to work predominantly within the areas of Anxiety, Trauma (from childhood or more recent), Stress Management, Low mood and Depression (inc' post natal).
Training, qualifications & experience
Originally studying towards my interests in Psychology and Human Physiology, I trained as a Counsellor in 2003 (Dip Couns, MBACP). I am an integrative practitioner using predominantly Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Person Centred Counselling, as well as offering an educative approach to physiological resilience. I wanted to try to assist people who experience depression or anxiety (generalised, specific, stress or trauma based), and these are some of the areas I specialise in today. I also have a great deal of therapeutic experience around abuse and assault (male and female).
Whilst working, I have completed an array of training courses- most recently my Post Graduate Diploma in Psychological Trauma. I have worked with both adults and youths in; schools, colleges, NHS, local authorities, universities (staff and student contracts), ran services for adult charities (within the capacity of drugs and sexual abuse/ assault work), many small contracts for businesses relating to work place stress management and resilience based solutions. I am available for work in non-contract/ private practice for approximately half my working week, so there is rarely a wait of more than two to three weeks for your initial appointment (regular availability reserved as required thereafter).
