Cheryl Chapman. Counsellor. PG Dip Counselling & Psychotherapy. MBACP
About me
Hello and welcome. We all experience difficult periods in our lives and at these times we may feel anxious, depressed or stuck. Relationships with others may be disappointing or we may be having difficulty in making an important decision. A traumatic event or significant life changes may leave us feeling lost or guilty. Sometimes we find ourselves repeating unhelpful patterns of behaviour yet we may be unaware of this. Perhaps you are feeling unfulfilled in some areas of your life and wish to explore this with a professional rather than friends or family members, who may have an agenda or, despite good intentions, may not necessarily act in your best interests.
I am a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist and I work integratively. This means I am trained in a range of approaches which I can draw on to provide unique support which is appropriate for each individual.
I am deeply committed to my work and find that significant positive changes unfold as clients gain self-awareness and become empowered. I provide a strictly confidential service which is warm, honest and without judgement.
I work with adults from all age groups in short-term therapy or long term therapy depending on the needs and circumstances of individuals. I am a registered member of the British Association of CounsellIng and Psychotherapy and adhere to their ethical framework which means that I always work in the best interests of my clients. In the past I have worked in business settings and therefore have a good understanding of the demands and pressures of corporate environments and the challenges faced when juggling work with family and home life. I also have experience of working in the public sector.
If you are interested in making an appointment with me or would just like to find out about how counselling may be able to help you, please contact me on 07768 810517 or email me.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
