About me

About Me

I am a recently qualified Transactional Analysis Integrative psychotherapist.

During my early career I worked in various community settings with people with complex needs such as mental health, substance misuse and emotional difficulties.

I then went on to work as a Probation Officer with Greater Manchester.

Whilst working as a Probation Officer it sparked my interest in the use of therapeutic practices with my clients. Then in the last five years I decided to train to become a psychotherapist and during the last two years I have set up my own private practice.

During my psychotherapy training I also worked as a volunteer counsellor with African Caribbean Mental Health Service.

Initial Session

To begin with I offer free initial thirty minute session. I also offer an extended initial session at a charge of £10. This allows you to explore what has brought you to therapy. You will also get the opportunity to ask me questions and decide if I am the right therapist for you.

How often are the sessions?

50 minutes once a week during the initial weeks of therapy. I believe regular attendance promotes continuity but I am willing to consider working with people on a fortnightly basis. I review how therapy is going with my clients after six sessions. Long term therapy is considered as a period of more than 15 weeks and will be subject to negotiation.

How do I know if therapy is the right thing for me?

It is important to make the decision to enter therapy for yourself. An initial consultation will help you to decide what type of therapist you would like to work with and what you want out of therapy. Within the initial session we will be getting to know each other in order to establish rapport.  During therapy you will have the time and space to explore and review the experience of working with me and decide whether you want to continue.

Feel free to contact me and ask any questions that will help you decide whether you want to book a session with me.
