It can lead to feeling overwhelmed, vulnerable or unable to cope. It could be affecting yourself and what you do, it could be affecting the relationships around you.
Often our anxieties and difficulties can feel so consuming and overwhelming it seems impossible to find a way out, or a way forward. Our thoughts and feelings can feel confusing, worrisome and isolating. Talking to friends and relatives about what we are experiencing may be too difficult as you may feel misunderstood or judged, maybe you just don’t want to worry them. Trying to work through our difficulties alone can be like being stuck between a rock and a hard place (trust me, I’ve been there!) That is why turning to counselling can help. You may know what is triggering your current experiences or you may have feelings you don’t understand. Many people come to counselling not knowing where the begin, and that’s ok, because that’s where I can help.
My Name is Charlotte and my passion for helping others came from a very young age. Having experienced poor mental health as a teenager I turned to counselling as I felt lost and didn’t have the knowledge and understanding of how to get out of the hard place I was in. I found counselling to be life changing and knew I wanted to be able to help others overcome the barriers preventing them from being happy and living a fulfilling life.
Over the last few years I have been working in different healthcare settings including gyms and leisure centres, GP surgeries and remotely, delivering 1-2-1 counselling and wellbeing coaching as well as fitness sessions and classes.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
