About me

I am a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Prior to moving into private practice, I worked in an NHS Adult Community Mental Health Service. In my private practice, I support individuals with a range of difficulties, including low mood & depression, anxiety & panic, self-criticism & low self-esteem, stress, difficulties in relationships & navigating life transitions (including parenthood). I provide individual therapy in Maldon, Essex, and online.

In terms of my approach, I predominantly draw on compassion-focused therapy (CFT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), tailoring these approaches to fit the unique needs and goals of the individual that I’m working with.

In our work together, I will aim to provide a compassionate and safe space for you to work through your difficulties at a pace that feels right for you. I see therapy as a collaborative endeavour and will support you to develop a deeper understanding of your difficulties and to explore pathways to change that feel meaningful to you.

In addition to holding a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (ClinPsyD), I also have a research doctorate in psychology (PhD) and I publish psychological research in academic journals.

If you are interested in working with me, I welcome you to get in touch by email. During your initial consultation you may wish to explore what brought you to therapy and discuss your hopes for therapeutic change. This appointment will also give you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. Following this, we can discuss a plan going forwards.

Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
