About me
Who I am and what I offer: I am an experienced (8+ years) psychotherapeutic counsellor and a graduate from Nick Duffell’s Diploma in Specialist Psychotherapy with ex-boarders. My first career was in Finance, then a stay-at-home mother before embarking on my post graduate counselling training. I offer both short and long-term counselling with individuals over the age of 18.The first step is so often the hardest to take and therefore I offer a free 30 minutes initial session so you can decide whether I am the right therapist for you.
Training and specialisations:My core training is Psychodynamic and I have also completed further training in Cognitive Based Therapy (CBT). My particular area of interest is attachment trauma and I specialise in working with ex-boarders. I have experience working with a broad range of issues including depression, anxiety, low self worth, loss, abuse, self harm, trauma, sexuality, identity and relationship difficulties.
How I Work: I work with clients initially exploring what has brought them to therapy. If things were okay you would not be seeking therapy and I work with individuals to enable change such as becoming unstuck, escaping repeated patterns of behaviour and altering how we are positioned by others. We would explore together the issues you bring so that you can make the changes you want in the way you want. I provide a safe, non-judgemental and confidential environment where all issues can be discussed including those we find hard to admit even to ourselves. I believe therapy should enable individuals to explore their issues and to move in the direction they want. So often we are surviving when we could be doing so much more. Therapy can enable movement from a position of surviving to a position of living.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Availability, when and where I work: I offer therapy Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Please get in touch to find out availability.
I work online (via Zoom) and in-person (Based in Newick, East Sussex). I offer a free initial 30 minute session.
Regular sessions would be weekly or fortnightly depending on individual preference. This can be discussed in our free initial session.
What to expect in our Initial session: In our first session we explore the reasons you have come to therapy, what your expectations are, and how we will work together. You can ask me any questions and talk about any fears or concerns that you might have. This is an opportunity to decide if you feel comfortable to work with me.
If we choose to continue working together, we will arrange a mutually convenient day and time for our weekly sessions. This will be your dedicated weekly slot.
