About me

Hello and welcome to CM Counselling & Psychotherapy, I am Charlotte.

I am a BACP accredited counsellor/psychotherapist offering an integrated person-centred therapeutic approach which is a 1-2-1 talking therapy service, you can expect to talk through your issues in a safe, non-judgemental environment at your own pace. I believe that each client experience is unique to them so an initial consultation will help to establish what will happen in your counselling sessions, the length of sessions you require and answer any queries you may have.

A little bit about me...

My interest in helping others began in my early career supporting disabled people to live independently. I went on to study BSc (Hons) Counselling Studies along with Therapeutic Skills enabling me to deliver relaxation training through the use of breathing relaxation and progressive muscle relaxation to help with the management of stress related issues.

Moving forward with my career and education, I have worked as a mental health support worker and mental health and wellbeing officer supporting clients experiencing difficulties using counselling related skills and mindfulness practice. I went on to complete my post graduate diploma and MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy and began practising as a Counsellor in 2015.

My work as a counsellor has seen me work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss, domestic and sexual abuse, relationship and family issues, work-related stress and childhood difficulties and/or traumas. In my work it is important to put the client at the centre of their feelings and emotions so I am not there to fix the issues as such but to be there alongside the client on their journey to discovering their own answers and potential.

Getting in touch

Seeking therapy can be a daunting and uncertain process for a client which is why I'd like to offer you a safe, non-judgemental environment to explore your thoughts and feelings that you may not be able to with those closest to you.

If you would like further information or an informal chat about the services I offer please email cmcounselling.info@gmail.com or DM on facebook CM.counselling.psychotherapy or IG @cm_counselling.psychotherapy. I will reply to you as soon as I can. *PLEASE CHECK YOUR JUNK MAIL FOR MY REPLY*

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
