Charlotte Moran - MSc Counselling & Psychotherapy, Therapeutic Skills, MBACP
Hello and welcome to CM Counselling & Psychotherapy, I am Charlotte.
I offer person-centred therapy which is a 1-2-1 talking therapy service, you can expect to talk through your issues in a safe, non-judgemental environment at your own pace. I believe that each client experience is unique to them so an initial consultation will help to establish what will happen in your counselling sessions, the length of sessions you require and answer any queries you may have.
A little bit about me...
My interest in helping others began in my early career supporting disabled people to live independently as part of a sports and social group. I went on to study BSc (Hons) Counselling Studies along with Therapeutic Skills enabling me to deliver relaxation training through the use of breathing relaxation and progressive muscle relaxation to help with the management of stress related issues.
Moving forward with my career and education, I have worked as a mental health support worker and mental health and wellbeing officer supporting clients experiencing difficulties using counselling related skills and mindfulness practice. I went on to complete my post graduate diploma and MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy and began practising as a Counsellor in 2015.
My work as a counsellor has seen me work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss, domestic and sexual abuse, relationship and family issues, work-related stress and childhood difficulties and/or traumas. In my work it is important to put the client at the centre of their feelings and emotions so I am not there to fix the issues as such but to be there alongside the client on their journey to discovering their own answers and potential.
