About me

My professional training and work over the last 18 years covers counselling areas, from Person Centred counselling (feeling and emotions) to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) (Thoughts, feeling, behaviours, and mindfulness).  I have been a experience qualified counsellor since June 2006, I also work from a few venues within the Liverpool city centre using face to face. ( L2 8TD post code) and also work on-line ( Teams) or phone to help support your personal development.  I am a registered member of the BACP, working within there guideline, in supporting your needs.  I also work to help you gain control of difficult issues that may be causing problems with your daily routine.

My Practice as a therapist covers counselling issues relating to extreme trauma and strong emotions and feeling that may be attached to your trauma.  I also cover other areas, such as  health anxiety and social anxiety and depression  and other complex issues that may be causing you problems.  Such as, Anxiety, Depression , OCD, early Dementia and relationships issues that have been impacted by these complex issues. The importance in challenging your  fears and  thoughts helps to to find a new and balance way of thinking, which helps you to check your mental health on a daily base.  My practice as a therapist is a collaborative relationship, helping you to work towards an outcome that helps you to deal with daily issues.  I also use educational tools to help you gain the information you need to support your self and gain control over difficult emotions and feelings that are sometimes difficult to let go.

Therapy helps you to unblock difficult issues that are holding you back, and to learn a new balance of both your negative and positive way of thinking.  CBT gives you the tools to help you deal with everyday triggers that would normally be missed when under pressure. I am also a experienced  mindfulness practitioner and use these skills to help you to hold difficult thoughts and feeling, when working on a deeper level with your triggers (thoughts).  My counselling practice also contains the use of brief therapy (6 sessions) or longer CBT session (12 to 18 sessions).  Both practices help you to focus on issues that you may be finding difficult to talk about, with family and friends.  My practice is design in helping you, gain skills and strategies, towards balancing everyday triggers and reflection around your personal growth.

Counselling is the start of a new journey, which helps you to discover new parts of your personality. These new growths helps to open new pathways of understanding about your self, and those around you.  Changing does not always have to difficult, it can be very rewarding and successful in a mindful way.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
