About me

I am a qualified and professionally trained Integrative-Relational Counsellor and Psychotherapist MBACP. I offer both short 6-12 weeks or long-term, face to face, online and telephone counselling.

I work with a diverse gender client group of young people, adults, older adults and special needs. I offer support with presentations of anxiety, depression, PTSD, bereavement, relationship issues, sexual difficulties, infidelity, separation, LGBTQ, gender identity and more. I have particular experience in working with eating disorders, addiction and fertility support (IVF).

I am an integrative-relational counsellor which means I work with a range of different counselling and psycho-therapeutic theories. This approach is extremely effective in valuing the uniqueness of each client.

How Counselling Can Help

If you are feeling overwhelmed, confused, anxious or depressed counselling allows an opportunity to talk about thoughts, feeling and concerns in a safe and non-judgmental space. Shame and guilt can play a huge part in stopping us from moving forward and feeling stuck or lost. The confidential and dependable environment of counselling 'talking to another' can enable us to explore problems that we may feel too embarrassed or ashamed to share with family and friends.

I work collaboratively with my clients to gain insight into repeated patterns of behaviour enabling self-awareness into past trauma. Moving away from unhealthy relationships and habits can help us to feel stronger, gain more self-esteem and therefore control.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked for the NHS in primary care, Royal Borough of Kingston, Epsom Counselling Service and Nuffield Health. I also have many years’ experience as an eating disorder sponsor supporting people in early recovery from anorexia, bulimia, compulsive overeating and compulsive exercise syndrome in the 12-step eating disorder recovery programme OA. I am currently affiliated with Emmaus Counselling Service in Guildford where I see clients on a Wednesday.

My background in personal training and exercise rehabilitation allows me to work somatically. Somatic therapy is holistic and studies the relationship between the mind and body in regard to psychological past.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
