About me

I am a qualified, experienced and compassionate psychotherapist working online in the Winchester area.
My personal working approach is always to see you, hear you, understand you and support you, in complete confidence and in a non-judgmental way.
Your therapy with me is your safe place.

Perhaps you do not know where to start but you do know that sometimes life can get complicated and challenging. Do you recognise some of the following feelings?

  • I keep getting into the same difficulties in my relationships
  • I have doubts about my current relationship
  • My relationship is over
  • I have lost my self-confidence and motivation
  • I feel strong emotions that I cannot manage
  • There are some painful things in my past or my present that I would like to talk about, but I am afraid and ashamed. I don't want to be disbelieved, judged, ridiculed, labelled or dismissed
  • Everything is scary
  • I have lost someone
  • I feel overwhelmed by my life or work responsibilities
  • I feel nothing
  • I am experiencing difficulties with food and/or my self-image
  • I can’t seem to get on with people
  • I feel angry most of the time
  • I want to change something that is not working for me, but I don't know how to go about it
  • I have a big decision to make and I don't know where to start
  • I feel something is wrong yet I can't open up to friends or family for fear of burdening them with my 'stuff' or upsetting them

As a professional therapist I can help you understand what is happening to you and why it is happening now.  Our work together will enable you to implement lasting changes in how you experience the world and how you relate to yourself and others. You will learn to recognise your negative behaviour patterns and begin to experience a more positive, confident and resilient attitude to life.

My experience includes working with adults and young adults living with relationship issues, depression, anxiety, panic, bereavement, loss and stress, lack of motivation or direction in life, lack of self-awareness, painful memories, shame and guilt; people living with terminal illnesses and the impact on their families; parents and young people with family issues; workplace, career and relationship issues; divorce and separation; food and self-image issues; retirement issues; survivors of sexual violence and abuse; people facing difficult life choices.

My therapeutic experience includes universities counselling services, NHS cancer units and medical practices, as well as charities and local council-aided establishments and refugees support. I also work online in private practice.

I work mainly with Transactional Analysis, which is a theory of personality and a communication tool that implements simple, positive and rapid changes. I also use CBT and other modalities, depending on your needs and goals.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
