Clapham Common Clinic

I’m an experience MSc level qualified Psychologist and Psychotherapist, specialising in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy, working with adults and young people with a range of difficulties, such as: anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, depression, relationship issues, panic attack, bereavement, addiction, post natal depression, separation and divorce, anger management, OCD. I combine my academic expertise with the practical clinical experience that I obtained from many years of working in the public and private sectors in London and Brazil. I offer short-term and long-term individual counselling in Clapham Common and online via Skype or FaceTime.
My training is in Integrative Counselling, and as such I am a great believer of not one model fits everyone, and rather prefer to draw on my learning and knowledge to apply the approach best for your needs. I provide a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space for the exploration of challenges that you may be facing or troubled by. There is also space for reflection.
How long is a session?
A session will last 50 minutes and will normally be on the same day and time each week, as discussed and agreed during our first session.
How many sessions will I need?
The goal of my counselling work is a relatively rapid improvement. However, the number of sessions will vary from person to person according to the nature of present issues and the depth to which you would like to explore these.
How confidential is counselling?
I aim to provide a safe, comfortable and confidential setting for my clients. All sessions will be private and confidential. Confidentiality is maintained within the ethical and practice guidelines of BACP ( British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy).
Training, qualifications & experience
My qualifications include a BACP accredited Master’s degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, a BSc (Honours) degree in Psychology with Counselling Skills and a diploma in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I am a BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) member.
As an integrative psychotherapist, I have been influenced by various therapeutic modalities that I use depending on client’s needs and preferences, including Psychodynamic and Attachment Theories, Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Humanistic approaches. However, I believe that the most significant factor facilitating client’s change and growth is the trust within the client-therapist relationship.
I have worked in private practice with clients with all sort of issues. I have also worked with young people at a community centre in South London, and with portuguese speakers (Brazilian & Portuguese) at a multicultural centre in West London.
