About me

I AM CURRENTLY ON HOLIDAY UNTIL THE 7TH OF APRIL 2024. I WILL REPLY TO ALL ENQUIRIES WITHIN 24 HOURS AFTER I RETURN TO WORK ON THE 8TH OF APRIL.

When difficult thoughts and feelings are making it a struggle to get through everyday life. it’s important to talk to someone who won't make judgements, but will help you understand and process what’s going on so you can begin to take steps towards feeling better. I’ve been helping people in this way for more than ten years, working with individuals facing a huge range of challenges in their lives. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to text, WhatsApp, email or call me.

A bit about me...

I qualified with a Higher Professional Diploma in Counselling in 2012. Since then I have completed many training courses on working with anxiety, trauma, attachment (relationships) and more.

I work with individuals, adults and teenagers (16 and over, 18+ for online appointments) facing a wide range of difficulties in their lives, including anxiety, depression, bereavement, trauma, childhood sexual assault, relationship problems and many more.

I offer in-person and online appointments from a calm and confidential setting in Louth, Lincolnshire. Online appointments are open to adults living anywhere within the UK.

During appointments we will work together to untangle the thoughts and feelings you may be experiencing. We will aim to gain insight into the issues you are dealing with, helping you to better understand what is going on. Everyone is different and the process will move at whatever pace is right for you - I don't set a limit on the number of sessions.

I will not give advice or tell you what to do, but aim to help you find your own way forward.

I recognise how daunting it can be to ask for help, so if you would prefer to email me with your contact details then I will get back to you within 24hrs.

Online or telephone appointments are available for adults (18+) living anywhere within the UK. More information is available in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYRTOnJBbaY

Appointments cost £45 and last for 50 minutes

If you're expecting an email from me and haven't heard anything within 24 hours, please check your junk/spam folder!

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Higher Professional Diploma in Counselling from Lincoln College and have worked in private practice since 2013.

Some of my experience as a counsellor comes from working voluntarily at The Centre for Grief & Loss in Lincoln. This involved working with clients dealing with bereavement, but also with different kinds of loss as well as a range of underlying issues.

In 2013 I set up my own private counselling practice where I work with clients dealing with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, family issues, relationship issues, trauma, sexual abuse, gender dysphoria, OCD and emotional issues arising from health problems. I have also worked at Franklin College in Grimsby, providing one to one counselling for students and staff.

I am a registered member of the BACP.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
