About me

Thank you for your interest.

I understand that you might be apprehensive about taking the first step to come and see someone about how you are feeling. I am a relational psychotherapist UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) accredited. I work with respect and in a non-judgemental approach. I offer a warm, safe relational and confidential space to explore whatever difficulties you might be facing, whether from past experiences that are impacting you now or current issues. Please give me a call or email for us to be able to set up an initial session: you'll be able to talk about what you're hoping for from counselling/psychotherapy. If you're happy to continue we can then arrange further weekly sessions.

I believe we have the ability to change our situation, make new life choices no matter how "stuck" we might feel. The therapeutic relationship is at the heart of our of our working alliance. I am committed to finding out what's best for you. I'm creative in my style of working allowing you to express your feelings, helping you to make sense of your innermost thoughts and experiences. You are not alone.

I have over 20 years experience of working therapeutically with children in an education setting. For the last 6 years I've worked with adults for an organisation who have contracts with Let's Talk services in Hull and the East Riding well-being service. I specialise in perinatal mental health (PND) supporting mum's, Dad's and their families.

I am a UKCP accredited/registered integrative psychotherapist. I trained at Scarborough Counselling and Psychotherapy Training Institute - post graduate diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy (4 years) - incorporating a research project and a mental health component.

I enjoy using Drawing and Talking (individual) & advanced Drawing and Talking (group) which is a therapeutic intervention that helps to work with the thinking and emotional areas of the brain. I have undertaken current Safe Guarding adults (January 2019) and children (November 2018) and hold up to date DBS checks - adults & children. I have specialist experience of working with Perinatal Metal Health. I also undertake Consultant/Supervisory work with staff/children in an education setting.
