Catherine McFadden, MIACP (Accred), BA Counselling/Psychotherapy
Do you ever have thoughts like 'I'm so anxious all the time'. 'I wish I was thinner/more attractive/more confident'. Are you feeling stressed out, overwhelmed, lost in life? Do you ask yourself 'Can I ever have a life without anxiety'?
Hi, I'm Catherine McFadden, I'm a fully qualified and accredited counsellor, and I help people overcome anxiety, stress and emotional pain and find calm again. I chose to do this work because it is deeply fulfilling to see each person that I work with heal and grow into the person they are meant to be. I would love to help you find your full potential.
How can I help you?
I'll help you identify the problematic thoughts behind your anxious feelings. I can help you to identify blocks which may be holding you back, and how to learn to move beyond them. I will also suggest ways of coping with the challenges of life nowadays, perhaps involving behavior and lifestyle changes, and ultimately soothing your anxious feelings.
How does counselling benefit us?
After doing these sessions with me, you should find yourself thinking "I CAN overcome anxiety", "these negative beliefs don't have to rule my life anymore", "I feel confident and calm again" and "yes, I do deserve to live free from pain and worry". Get in touch now to set up your first session and get this process in motion!
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a first class degree in counselling and psychotherapy from the Institute of Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, Dublin. I integrate elements of different approaches according to each client’s unique needs, while based upon the cornerstone of person – centred therapy. As a former theatre practitioner, I'm passionate about the therapeutic potential of theatre and all of the arts, and this forms part of my integrative approach. I attend regular supervision as part of my professional work and adhere to the code of ethics of the IACP. I've also done training in Solution Focused Brief Therapy and ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills).
My priority is to create a warm, empathetic, non-judgmental space for each client to be able to explore their own world. The power of the therapeutic relationship is an important component in growth and healing. I am also open to exploring a spiritual perspective on life, according to the needs and wishes of my clients.
I can provide therapy in both English and Spanish, having lived five years in South America.
