About me

At Hallam Counselling I offer counselling for a wide range or emotional and mental health concerns and I specialise within the psychology of health.

I began my career as a nutritionist before swapping my skill set to work as a support worker with those suffering with chronic health conditions. I spent my time educating patients about their health conditions and empowering them to take back control of their lifestyle from the illnesses they were experiencing. During this time I was frequently frustrated by the lack of psychological support available for people suffering with these debilitating and often life changing illnesses. It did not matter which particular condition an individual was diagnosed with, there was very much a strong theme of anxiety, depression and hopelessness present in their lives. I worked alongside many people who seemed to have become consumed by the illness and had forgotten who they were as a person. I undertook my professional training in counselling and psychotherapy to enable me to work within this area and provide a valuable and much needed service. My passion is to help you find your strength and a peace within yourself in an ever changing environment.
