About me

I am a Humanistic Therapist which means that i believe in the right to decide on your own life choices. This means that understanding what is important to you is key to what I do.  We spend our sessions exploring you because self-exploration leads to self-awareness and it is only when we know who we are that we can make the changes to live a life that fits better.

I offer the normal 50 minute sessions but can offer single session therapy, one at a time sessions too so you can access therapy online or in person at our wonderful office in Rochford.

I have experience of working with the common reasons for seeking counselling: Anxiety, General Anxiety Disorders, Child related issues, Bereavement, Financial worries, Friendship issues, Loneliness, Loss, Relationship worries, Sadness, Stress, Trauma, Parenting worries and work with children and young people.  I have a particular specialism for working with Vestibular Conditions and in supporting Adopted adults and adults who adopt.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been in private practice since 2011 having studied counselling at University gaining a First Class Honours Degree along with a Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision. I am Accredited with the Foundation for Infant loss and have a Level 5 Teaching qualification. I am an Accredited Professional Member of the National Counselling Society (NCS) and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) which means you can be assured that I have an ethical code that I must work to.

I have experience with parents, carers, children and teens as well as teachers, teaching assistants and people with issues around self-esteem and self worth.

I am a supervisor and work with a variety of counselling, corporate and education staff to help support you in your work, whatever it is.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
