About me

I am philosophically connected to the Person Centred way of Therapy. I will work with you in a warm, caring and deeply empathic way. Focusing on you as an individual whose therapy should be as unique as your journey through life.

I will not judge, diagnose or offer you advice. Instead I will help you work towards finding your own answers and self healing. You are your own best expert and given the right conditions and time, you can become more resourceful and content with being you.

There are many reasons why a person may seek counselling. Perhaps you've been aware for some time of not feeling "right". Your life may feel out of control, influenced by external events, situations or relationships which cause you pain, anxiety or depression.

Time and space for yourself may be impossible to find, leaving a sense of sadness or powerlessness. A specific event, accident or bereavement may have left you reeling in shock, traumatised or feeling powerful grief. You may be aware of problem behaviours and feelings which you would like to change but don't know what to do about it. Contemplating, taking action, recovering are all issues you may need some help with.

Although this list is by no means complete, I frequently work with issues such as anxiety, abuse, addiction, bullying, bereavement, change, depression, domestic violence, fear, gambling, identity, isolation, mental health, postnatal depression, post detox/rehabilitation, relationship issues, sexual abuse, sexuality, self worth, self esteem, suicide, suicidal thoughts, stress, trauma, violence, work related issues. I also specialise in working with people experiencing problems with alcohol or other substance misuse

I offer individual counselling for adults and young adults. I am an independent self employed counsellor working in private practice under the name of My Therapy Partnership. My rooms are at The Hope Street Centre in Sandbach and at The Affinity Centre in Wilmslow on Water Lane. I receive enquiries from a wide area including Greater Manchester, Merseyside and South Cheshire. Please contact me by phone, text or email if you wish to know more about what I can offer. You can also visit my website at www.mytherapypartnership.co.uk or contact me via my Facebook page My Therapy Partnership @mtp.counselling

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and I am bound by their ethical policy and procedures. My name appears on the Accredited Voluntary Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I am also a fully insured practitioner.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.
