Cath Lowe MBACP
I am offering you the chance to deepen your understanding of yourself and how you relate. My life experience spans my work in the NHS and in schools over decades. My counselling expertise ensures that I understand what is needed for personal change and can offer you confidential professional support.
I currently offer weekly face to face counselling to individuals via video meeting eg. Zoom or on the telephone.
My approach is Person-Centred. This means that I will put you and your concerns at the heart of our work and of all our sessions. I have a good understanding of how we are all affected by past experiences in our work, social and personal lives and of mental health problems. I will apply my knowledge and experience of counselling to support you.
My aim is to help you better understand yourself and any problems, anxieties and difficult feelings which are causing you distress. I have a wide range of skills and I am interested in helping people reach their full potential.
If you are reading this you may be asking 'Why do I feel like this and can it be different?', 'How can I enjoy my work, study or social life better?', 'Who can I talk to about difficult thoughts or feelings or this distressing issue?'. I am offering that listening ear within a professional counselling setting.
You can contact me for an initial session free of charge by email via this website or call me, leaving a phone message if necessary which I will reply to within 24 hours.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
