About us

Castle Craig is a residential rehab clinic that treats alcoholism, drug addiction and other addictions such as gambling. We believe addiction is a disease and that abstinence is essential for long-lasting recovery. Our aim is to help patients cure their disease through an intensive, personalised programme that follows the 12 Steps, provides medical treatment, psychiatric therapy and complementary therapies. Our alcohol and drug treatment programme has been carefully constructed over 30 years of professional, practical experience.

Training, qualifications & experience

With over 30 years of experience in addiction treatment and helping patients with addictive disease, Castle Craig offers expert medical and professional care. The hospital is registered with Healthcare Improvement Scotland (formerly the Care Commission), which is the statutory inspector of hospitals in Scotland. Castle Craig is also a prime and extra contractor to the National Health Service. It is a preferred provider to major UK medical insurers and is recognised by the Dutch healthcare system and other governments outside the UK.

Castle Craig has the Intertek quality assurance system in place. This is internationally-recognised accreditation for quality management, a system that is used by over 800,000 organisations in 162 countries. It covers our medical, nursing and administrative procedures, which are regularly updated in line with best practice and are subject to regular audits. In this way we are continually improving our operations and management procedures.
