About us
I am Louise, and I thank you for taking the time to view my profile.
I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor offering a counselling service in the North Antrim Coast area. I am registered with BACP and NCS, and work within the BACP Code of Ethics. I can offer you a safe, ethical, confidential, respectful and non-judgemental space in which you can focus on yourself and begin to understand in more depth the challenges you may be facing. In this space I will listen, support and help you to understand your feelings and behaviours, and enable you to become more self-aware, thus enabling you to implement the change. In all sessions, you will have our full and focused attention, the therapy space, is a space which allows you to focus on yourself, and the most important element for us is the building and maintenance of a strong therapeutic relationship with you.
As an integrative counsellor I will incorporate various therapeutic techniques including person-centred/humanistic concepts, CBT methods of change and psychodynamic therapies. The work is very much led by yourself as client, and I will work with you to ensure that we are meeting your specific needs. I understand that considering counselling can be a very big decision, so to assist with this we can offer you a short 15-20 minute free of charge telephone consultation to connect with you, and for you to ensure that our service will meet your specific needs, and that I answer any questions you may have.
I therapeutically work with clients from the ages of 12 upwards and we can offer counselling for a number of issues such as: anxiety/depression/stress/suicidal ideation/self-harm/family issues/relationship difficulties/abuse - adult and childhood/domestic abuse/bereavement and loss/low self-esteem/panic attacks/loneliness etc. I can offer you the opportunity for short- or longer-term therapeutic work, depending on your individual need.
My therapeutic work is very much led by you as client, and I will journey with you at a pace that works for you.
If you are ready to begin your therapeutic journey, I am here to walk beside you on that journey. I look forward to connecting with you.
