About me

Embracing counselling can be a positive step towards a happier and more fulfilling life. I imagine, because you’re here, that you may be facing difficulties or challenges, but I’m here to help you work through any discomfort or distress that is affecting your life in a safe and confidential space. You can be assured that I will listen to you with kindness and in a calm, understanding and non-judgemental way and support you through any emotional distress you are experiencing.

Reaching out for help can seem daunting, but I'm committed to helping you develop a better understanding of yourself in a safe therapeutic relationship whilst you find a way forward that’s right for you, free from pressure and at your pace.

Before becoming a counsellor I enjoyed a professional business career spanning 30 years as a result of which I offer you a wealth of experience of life and the challenges we sometimes face.

Will counselling help?

Counselling can help you at a time when life just feels overwhelming for any reason. You could be feeling sad, stressed, anxious or depressed, be facing an emotionally uncertain time or have relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, be facing loss in addition to many other concerns.

It can really help to talk to somebody outside the emotional attachment of family or friends, who is impartial and trained to listen and help. Counselling can help you rediscover your real self, find coping strategies and help you find a happier life.

How do I work?

I offer face to face sessions at home in Knowle, Solihull in a quiet and private setting with parking.  Alternatively, you may opt for phone or online sessions via Zoom, offering you the flexibility to tailor your counselling to suit your lifestyle or geographical area.

Please make contact if you think I can help.

I'm a fully qualified British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) registered counsellor and hold a CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Person-centred/Integrative).

I've completed additional training in online and telephone counselling and also:

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
