About me
I am an accredited CBT therapist, counsellor and qualified EMDR practitioner. I am passionate about empowering my clients to transform patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviours, which are detrimental to their own well-being and relationships with others. I am experienced in working with stress, anger and anxiety which can affect both work and home life. My approach may vary depending on what I feel will be most beneficial for you and what you are looking to get out of our sessions at the time.
I will work with you by exploring your unconscious beliefs, values and emotional needs, to help discover the root cause of the issues you have been experiencing. Needs and values may include emotional stability, to build a strong connection with those you love, to feel like you have a purpose and are growing or it may be the need to discover your own sense of identity and feel more comfortable with being you.
My aim is to create a safe space for you to unpack all of the issues and emotions spinning round the mind and body and to work through areas of pain and hurt so that they can be confronted, understood and so the residual suffering can be greatly reduced. We can then build on that learning to identify other options for you and allow you to make more beneficial choices in future. By working through areas that can drain you both physically and mentally this creates more energy that can be filtered into experiencing greater comfort, balance and well-being.
As part of the therapeutic process I may recommend EMDR therapy. This has been proven to be very helpful in addressing a range of conditions where you can feel stuck. These include disturbing memories, flashbacks and phobias as well as recent or historic trauma, abuse or complicated grief.
It is important to have a therapeutic relationship where you feel at ease, in a safe environment where you feel able to be honest and open. If you are not sure whether I may be the therapist for you or you would like to ask any questions please do contact me by either telephone or email.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
