About me

Life can present us with challenges causing complexity and hard to handle feelings. I offer a warm and safe environment in which you can explore and reflect on difficulties that you might be facing.

I offer an initial free half hour meeting for you to see how I work and if it is for you. I provide long or short term counselling and also offer supervision.

My rate is £40 for an hour. I also have a small number of concessionary places and I currently see clients in Stroud and Gloucester.

My approach as an integrative counsellor includes relational, humanistic and transpersonal perspectives. This means I am interested in what each client uniquely brings and adept my approach accordingly.

Initially, we would identify any goals or aims you would like to work towards while being mindful as our work together unfolds other aims may arise.

By building trust and forming a working relationship a space is created to explore concerns and issues that might be painful and difficult to assimilate. Sometimes underlying patterns need identifying and addressing to enable change to take place and to reveal one's full potential.

I believe that confidentiality is very important and I adhere to the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapist's ethical framework.

Alongside my private practise I work as a Clinical Coordinator at a low cost counselling agency. I assess clients and supervise counsellors. Working at the agency has given me a broad experience of meeting clients from varied life situations covering a wide variety of issues such as anxiety, stress and depression, separation and divorce, bereavement, low self-esteem, early childhood disturbances, trauma and family dynamics and work related issues.

For many years I have worked as a movement therapist in schools, with special needs children on a one to one basis and offered movement seminars and workshops for adults which has given me a deeply empathetic approach to my work and sensitivity towards the uniqueness of each individual. This serves to underpin my work as a counsellor and a supervisor.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
