About me

My goal is to give a non-judgmental, comprehensive and safe environment for my clients, building a trustful therapist-client relationship. I believe that empathy is the most important key for a successful work between client and therapist and I can assert that I have a considerable capacity of putting myself in others shoes and empathising with my clients emotions and life story. Also, I am a warm and supportive therapist.

My purpose as a Psychotherapist is to bring self-awareness to the client of their emotional issues, behaviours and their way of connecting with themselves and the world. My work consists of walking with the patient through the discoveries, experiences and emotions, from the present and past, in the here and now, aiming for self-awareness. With more self-awareness, the client will be also be more self-confident and have more self-acceptance.

Weekly sessions are ideal for a better therapeutic process, so I only see individual clients weekly. I may see couples and families on a fortnight basis. I can't pre-determine the number of sessions of therapy since I believe everyone has their own process and therefore their own time to deal with internal and deep issues.

I have more than 17 years of experience as a Psychotherapist, working with adults, couples and families with a range of issues.  I have trained on Gestalt-therapy, Systemic Therapy and EMDR, but I also use some techniques from different approaches. I see clients in Battersea (10 minutes walk from Clapham Junction and Wandsworth Town Station) in London and online, in English and Portuguese.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am fully qualified, registered and insured to practice psychotherapy in the UK. I am a British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy registered member (MBACP) and a UK Association for Gestalt Practitioners member.  I have trained on Gestalt-therapy, Systemic Therapy and EMDR, but I also use some techniques from different approaches.

Since I graduated in January 2005, I have been seeing clients in different private practices in Rio and London, and online. I volunteered for 1.5 years at the Multi-ethnic Counselling Service (MECS) in the Waterloo Community Centre seeing IAPT/NHS patients. I also worked doing assessments for MECS.

I gained very good experience at the Brazilian Navy, where I used to be military for six years, working as a Psychotherapist seeing Navy personnel and their families. I worked with teenagers and adults, individually and in groups, couples and families with different issues and diagnosis.

I have a BA in Psychology (and Psychotherapy), a Postgraduate in Gestalt-therapy and a Postgraduate in Systemic Family Therapy (equivalent to MA). Also, I am always looking to develop myself with courses, workshops, lectures, supervision, etc.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
