About me
Hello and welcome
“It’s time to talk” - I offer to a safe space to explore, discover and connect with your whole authentic self.
You have now taken the first step to living a ‘Whole’ life and for whatever reasons you are seeking support, nothing is too big or too small to explore. I believe therapy is for ‘everyone’ and not just for when we reach a crisis point in our lives.
You may be going through a specific issue or a transition such as a relationship dilemma or challenges at work, bereavement and loss, an illness or recent diagnosis or you may be feeling 'stuck' or anxious and lack motivation, energy or the strength to move forward. Alternatively, you may want to take the time to explore a little deeper for a better understanding and awareness of self, particularly around initial attachments and past difficult experiences and events and how these may be impacting you in the here and now.
There is no right or wrong reason or way to seek therapy, just come as you are and I will meet you exactly there with humanness and acceptance.
Why seek counselling and psychotherapy
Psychological therapy can help you to accept the past, embrace the present and rewrite the future. By helping us tap into our unconscious processes, therapy can help us gain more self-awareness and insight into our behavioural and thinking patterns and any areas that might be holding us back from being whole and living a consciously full and vital life. I provide a safe, empathic and non-judgmental space for us to explore together why you may be feeling this way and what may be holding you back.
What to expect in our first session
In our first session, you will have the space to share what brought you to therapy and to gain a better understanding of how this is impacting on you in the here and now. I am open to different ways of working, such as, short term fixed sessions, longer term open ended or single exploratory sessions. How we collaborate to meet your needs can be discussed during our initial sessions.
I understand that finding a therapist can be challenging, with questions coming to mind such as will I find the right fit for me, someone I can relate to?, someone who will understand me?, and or someone who I can build a relationship of trust to be fully open about my challenges? These are important questions as a therapeutic relationship which is built on trust and openness between the client and therapist is the most essential part of the healing process. On this basis, I do offer a free 15-minute introductory chat (if required) to see if we are a good fit for each other. Do send me a message via email or text to arrange this.
How I work
As an integrative counsellor and psychological therapist I tailor sessions to each unique persons needs by providing a relational, empathic and non-judgmental space for us to explore and process in a collaborative way. I work with Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Behavioural approaches across cultures and difference. I believe that therapy, however, should not be predetermined or imposing. In our sessions, by actively listening and being relational and emotionally attuned, I will gain an understanding of how you experience yourself and the world before, if/when appropriate integrating psychotherapeutic theory and approaches to gain further insight.
I integrate holistic therapeutic practices and approaches into our sessions, we may look to review your lifestyle patterns and collaborate on making any necessary adjustments which can help to alleviate your symptoms and reenergise you to live a whole life. I will also support you to tap into and manifest your hidden strengths and resilience, working together to bring about positive change.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an integrative counsellor and psychological therapist working from a psychological informed approach integrating humanistic, psychodynamic and behavioural approaches. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and hold a British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited master’s degree alongside a PGCE in Counselling Psychology.
Through working with NHS Talking therapies and my private practice, I work with a wide range of presenting issues and with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, neurodivergence and with difference. I am trauma and attachment informed and provide a safe space to explore the impact of past experiences, maladaptive behaviours, adaptations and other coping mechanisms which may no longer be serving you at this time.
Before retaining as a Therapist, I came from a corporate and financial background with lived experience of high pressurised stressful environments and an understanding of how pressure and overwhelm can lead to the adoption of maladaptive coping mechanisms. Having lived and worked in various multi-cultural cities I have an appreciation for individual difference and cultural diversity and the importance of entering the client’s unique world of experiencing.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
