About me

I am an experienced Psychotherapist. I believe that no one should ever just settle, or be satisfied with living a life that is anything other than the absolute best that it can be, and I am passionate about assisting clients to realise the changes they can make to enable them to achieve the better life they deserve.

Sharing  problems with a qualified Psychotherapist can help you, especially in a non judgmental confidential environment, in a way that is rarely possible with family and friends. The service I provide will give you the opportunity to explore your concerns and feelings. Together we will be able to rationalise, accept and discuss  any  negative conditioning beliefs  and replace them with supportive and beneficial traits that will allow you to move forward with renewed confidence. Psychotherapy is not advice, it does not make any decisions for you, but will help you to decide what is important and how to gain control over areas in your life that you are not happy with.

I believe that everyone deserves true happiness and self confidence. If you are not happy with any aspect of your life. I urge you to consider making that change today.

Training, qualifications & experience

Traditional therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychotherapy, Counselling, Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) and Life Coaching work for some of the people, some of the time. I have a Masters Degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy which involves a thorough knowledge of all  the therapeutic approaches. Its central tenet is that clients' needs are best served by an eclectic approach rather than ridgidly adhering to one. I place great importance on selecting the best therapeutic approaches to suit the unique needs of my clients. Integrative Counselling means the sessions are tailored specifically for you and your own personal needs, this achieves results for all of the people all of the time.

I  also have a Diploma of Higher Education in Person Centred Counselling which is non advisory form of counselling that supports clients in finding solutions for themselves and have certificates in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which is a more directive form of therapy that concentrates on managing behaviour and finding coping strategies as well as identifying negative thoughts and behaviour patterns.

I have been on numerous training courses that have covered more specialised topics for example, Bereavement and Loss, Depression, Abuse, Bullying, Unemployment, Family Rows, Relationships Issues, Low Self Esteem, Anxiety and Anger Management. These issues can generate painful feelings which can be alleviated through sharing them with a trained Psychotherapist. I have experience in couple counselling, and have found that couples who are willing to seek counselling, often save their relationship rather than break it.

I have worked  as a Psychotherapist within the NHS (GP's practices).  I am passionate about assisting and supporting young people to not only enjoy every moment of their adolescence, but also to prepare them for adulthood. I have been privileged to have frequently worked with young people in secondary schools  with challenging behaviour, socialization and behavioural issues.

I have my own practice  known as Twocan.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
