About me

Hi there.  My name is Caroline Bailey.  Thank you for visiting and viewing my profile!!  Just a little insight about  me ....I am a qualified Humanistic Integrative Counsellor and have been in practise since 2013. I have experience in both long and short term therapy. My style of working entails using an approach which is supportive, accepting and gently challenging. The emphasis is to adopt a warm, non-judgemental approach and to establish an honest therapeutic relationship.  In order to achieve this, it is my  belief that the individual is offered a safe space in which to  express and explore their thoughts and feelings freely. Building trust between my  client and I is essential in creating transparency and I am  hopeful that this will allow you as my client  to gain more insight of any patterns that have been affecting your life at present. I enjoy working with people who are from diverse  backgrounds and cultures and who are across the age span.

I am a Mental Health First Aider which means that I have gained great insight in providing mental  first aid to those who may be experiencing mental health issues such as depression, anxiety and psychosis.

My aim is to help you to find your way through whatever difficulties you may be facing. I hope that this will increase your self-confidence and also your ability to enjoy life.

We will work together to try to make sense of what is happening just now.

As I do not employ a ‘one size fits all approach’, sessions are conducted around the individual  needs of my clients, as their needs are unique to them. My belief is that everyone has the capability within them to face their difficulties, however, I understand that at times they may feel stuck and unable to do so. It could be they find it difficult to build trust, may feel judged, guilty or  even find that they constantly live in the past

I can offer an environment which is: -

  • Safe
  • Non-judgmental
  • Honest
  • Trustworthy

I am also a registered member of the  BACP and  adhere to their  Code of Ethics regarding professional confidentiality and to the BACP Ethical Practice  and  Professional Standards. All calls and initial assessments are in the strictest confidence.

I have received training in safe guarding, Mental Health First Aid, Attachment and Loss and Play Therapy.  I express great interest in attending workshops based on addictions and domestic violence.

Initially, a short assessment will take place whereupon we can then run through some questions which may allow you to gain  some insight and clarity for you, as my potential client, in deciding whether therapy is for you.

One off sessions are also available.

'Counselling has been of great help. It has made a huge difference '......Cara.

'I was apprehensive about counselling initially but found Caroline to be non judgemental and very down to earth. I soon felt at ease and was able to express myself and explore areas which I realised needed to be addressed. I feel that I have taken what was necessary in order to make sense of what was happening in my life. Thank you. I would highly recommend Caroline to anyone seeking counselling'...Daniel

After having long term counselling with Caroline, I have found the whole journey to be amazing although at times really tough. I have gained so much - the biggest thing? Self-acceptance!! It is work in progress but it has set me free and it's wonderful.....Denise

I was going through a difficult time and contacted Caroline for therapy. I had bottled up alot of my anxiety and issues. Counselling helped me start to unravel those emotions and to understand where they were coming from. My confidence has grown tremendously. I have recommended Caroline to several people...Harjit
