About me

Hello there,

I am a qualified and experienced therapist working from home in Camberley.

I work with couples, individuals and young people. Some areas of experience are:

Anxiety - Depression - Anger - Low Self Esteem - Panic Attacks - Relationships Issues - Loss and Bereavement - Lack of Direction - Self Harm - Dependencies
Addictions- Conflict at Work or Home - Eating Disorders

Counselling helps, firstly by allowing us to relax enough to let go and explore all that is worrying us, in the safe knowledge that it will go no further and that we are not being judged or criticized for it.

Even if we are unable to change the outside world, the effect of finding a new perspective through such consideration and accepting ourselves despite what has or is happening to us, can change everything.
The very act of verbalizing our experience and having it heard and acknowledged by another allows us to reconstruct what it means to us, and then we can store it away in our mind as a harmless memory.

My approach to counselling is primarily to provide a safe, non-judgemental and open environment in which you will feel comfortable enough to work through your current issue.

Sessions last for an hour, and usually weekly.   Sometimes just one or two sessions feels sufficient to resolve current issues, and sometimes the work takes much longer. We need to remember that pain can lay dormant below many layers of coping strategies and conditioning for years or even decades, and we need to be patient and kind to ourselves on such a journey - and perhaps a little courageous too.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and, as such, abide by their ethical framework. My home is easily accessible by road and bus, and there is ample car parking space.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Warm Regards
