Because now is such a challenging time for us all, I am offering a free 20 minute session which may be conducted either by phone or via Zoom or Skype. Please feel free to contact me to discuss.
I am an experienced and fully qualified integrative counsellor for all ages but specialise in working with children and young people and their parents/carers. Many young people today experience overwhelming and confusing feelings that leave them feeling vulnerable and unable to cope with life. I offer support in the form of both long-term and short-term more solution based therapy online through Skype or Zoom, or by telephone.i
I also provide interactive courses and specific counselling to help children and teenagers who are experiencing high levels of anxiety. The courses are tailored to be age appropriate and parents/carers can be involved in working collaboratively through the process.
What can I help with?
Children and young people today have a lot of challenges and issues to contend with as they journey towards self discovery, independence and adulthood. Some children/adolescents feel like square pegs trying to fit into round holes and navigating life and its ups and downs can feel impossibly difficult.
They may experience family issues, divorce, parental separation, trauma, abuse, bereavement/loss, school issues, school refusal, bullying friendship problems, parental illness, gender curiosity, transitions, exam stress, drink/drug abuse, sex issues, loneliness.
Their frustration may be communicated through expressions of sadness, anger, depression, anxiety, panic, low self-esteem and confidence, self hatred, lack of resilience and assertiveness, attachment difficulties, self-harm, disordered eating, phobias, behaviour problems, addiction, OCD, suicidal thoughts...... and much more.
I am specifically trained to work with children and young adults with all of these issues and more, including looked after children and children and families/siblings of children with ASD.
I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to talk, and be creative, (even online this is possible) so as to allow each young person the opportunity to express themselves,

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
