About me

I am an accredited member of the BACP. I have a diploma in Therapeutic (Psychodynamic) Counselling with over Sixteen years experience working in a variety of different settings. I set up my private counselling practice to ensure that I can provide you with the best level of care as well as having the freedom to work through any difficulties you may have in a way that meets your needs.

At some points in our lives, we can feel as if we are struggling to cope. Counselling can provide a safe and non-judgmental place where you can explore your difficulties and experiences. It can help to have another person to talk to who respects who you are as an individual and who can help guide you towards identifying and understanding any issues. This will help you to feel more empowered and more able to make positive changes in your life.

I offer both long and short term counselling. Sometimes a small number of focused sessions can be enough to clear your mind, enabling you to find a solution that helps you to think and move in a more positive direction. Other times having counselling for a longer period can be beneficial as it gives you time to explore and to work through any issues or problems in your own time.

Counselling can help you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and those around you. It may be past experiences that are troubling you or more recent difficulties that you are struggling to cope with. These can be worked through, in a comfortable and secure environment, with someone who will listen to you and value what you say.  This can enable positive change and a more rewarding way of living.

If you feel stuck and that you are struggling on your own, do not hesitate to call or email me. I can help you through these difficult times, enabling you to move forward and to take control back of your life.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
