About me

Hello, thank you for looking at my profile.

I am an experienced NHS Therapist who works with Trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Anxiety, Panic, OCD, Abuse, Depression, Phobias and Eating Disorders. I work from a neurobiological (mind and body) perspective using a tool kit of therapies to suit individual needs, and therapy techniques recommended by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE). I would be pleased to talk to you.

If you feel stressed and anxious and want to feel better I can help. I can help you to learn or develop skills in anxiety management which can help you quickly and effectively using methods I have learned from over 30 years of experience working with clients with anxiety disorders, within the NHS and in private practice.

I offer a calm, supportive listening ear, where I seek to understand and not judge, alongside skills and techniques to help you cope and change.

I can help with this by telephone, Whats App or Zoom so you can be in the comfort of your own home.

I have trained in a number of key therapies and combine them with counselling, cognitive behaviour therapy, EMDR trauma therapy , ACT and hypnosis. I help with stress, generalised and specific anxiety disorders such as panic attacks, OCD and PTSD, social anxiety and addictions.  I am a qualified Yoga teacher and use mind body strategies which include movement and relaxation, breathing and grounding techniques and a mindfulness approach to compliment talking therapy.

I have a special interest in how we cope with stress and anxiety by binge eating and develop obesity and other eating disorders. We often use food or other methods as a coping strategy to manage life ups and downs and mood fluctuations. I am involved with ongoing training with the National Centre for Eating Disorder working on a Master Practitioner level training programme.

Working as a mental health professional and as a Yoga teacher for many years has brought me a great deal of experience of how the body holds emotions in the form of pain and tension which at times of too much stress we can use food or other substances to soothe us that helps in the short term, but creates other problems in the long term.

My experience in various therapies  will help you to find ways to cope with stress, addictions, anxiety and many other complex issues and can support you back to a place where you feel balanced once more and better able to take things in your stride.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
