Carol Jones PgDip. Counselling Psychology, MBACP
Hi, my name is Carol. I am a fully qualified person-centred counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I presently work from comfortable counselling rooms in Upton, a short distance from Chester City centre.
Life for us all can become demanding and stressful at times and often having a space to explore our thoughts and feelings with the support of a counsellor can give us greater self-understanding and awareness. I can offer a welcoming, safe and confidential space where you can talk and be listened to without judgement, which may allow you to see things from a different perspective. My approach is person-centred which means that we work together to develop a good therapeutic relationship based on acceptance, trust and respect. I can provide both short and long-term therapy.
I presently work as a counsellor for a charity that provides support for those touched by cancer, carers, bereaved clients and family members. I also work as a specialist mentor providing mental health support to students at a local university. Previously, I worked for two years as a counsellor at a local women's centre and gained experience in working with anxiety, depression, domestic abuse and trauma. Before re-training as a counsellor I worked for a number of years as a teacher, specialising in providing support for students with additional needs and ensuring that they could access the school curriculum.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. If you feel that we can work together, please get in touch.
