About me
There are times in life when we all need a little help but it's not always easy to reach out and ask for that help. You may be feeling alone, overwhelmed, irritable, sad, anxious, numb or a general sense of 'feeling 'lost'. You may understand why you are feeling these things - perhaps a specific life event, but sometimes it's hard to pinpoint the 'why'.
Does this resonate? If so, I hope you can make the first step in reaching out to me. I genuinely believe in the power of therapy based on my own life experiences and my four years of training.
In our sessions, I will provide a safe space for you to explore without judgement. My hope is that this helps to build your self-confidence, appreciate the options you have, and bring clarity to your situation.
Training, qualifications & experience
As a current member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) I am bound by and adhere to the Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions. I am committed to working safely, ethically and confidentially. I am also fully insured.
I am a qualified person-centred counsellor holding a CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
I also hold CPCAB Level 2 in Counselling Skills and CPCAB Level 3 in Counselling Studies.
My placement year was spent working as a volunteer counsellor at St Richards Hospice. Previously I volunteered at Samaritans.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
