About me

I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.

I offer online (Zoom) sessions between 10am and 5pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

I offer a warm welcome and a confidential and accepting space where you can feel safe sharing your difficult experiences and concerns without feeling judged. I focus on building a trusting relationship so we can work together in partnership. I will be led by you to support you in your counselling goals.

What you can expect

Talking about our difficulties can make a real difference. I will do a lot of listening and not telling because I believe you are the expert on you! I will ask questions so I can get a deep understanding of you, your experiences, and your concerns, so that together we will uncover the beliefs you hold about yourself and others and how these make you feel and impact your life. By being able to identify and understand patterns of behaviour and unwanted responses to triggers, you will develop your awareness so that you can choose to respond differently to those things that might feel unmanageable right now.

Together we will discover where you want to make changes to improve your wellbeing.

How I work

My practice is based in psychodynamic therapy which explores the roots of our beliefs about ourselves and others and seeks to find insight and clarity about how this can continue to influence our lives now. I work in an integrative way which means that I may draw from various theories and approaches in our work together, including person-centred theory, transactional analysis, and psychoeducation to best suit your wants and needs.

What I can help you with

I have a particular focus on helping people who are feeling emotionally overwhelmed. I have worked with people experiencing anxiety, panic disorders, depression, abuse, trauma, addiction, grief, loss, life changes, low self-esteem, addiction, neurodiversity, work-related issues and more!

I am a fully qualified integrative relational psychodynamic therapist with a CPCAB Level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. I am a registered member of British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework, as well as to UK GDPR confidentiality and data protection policy. I am fully insured.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
