Hi, I’m Carmela, a qualified therapeutic counsellor, offering one to one talking therapy – currently face to face, looking to offer online sessions in the near future.
It can be a great relief to be able to share your worries and stress with someone who isn’t your friend or family member and can therefore listen and understand without expectations or judgement. I won’t be able to “fix” your situation or tell you what to do but I can give you a confidential space and support you, as you explore your feelings and circumstances. I am a strong believer in the power of the counselling relationship. It might take a little bit of time but once that connection and trust is built and you feel you can be completely yourself and talk openly about whatever is on your mind, I hope you will start to feel in control, see things more clearly and feel more confident to make the changes you want to in your life and your relationships.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am particularly passionate about working with young people, finding their place in the world and having to master new roles, whether that is at work, as a student, within your family, in relationships or becoming a parent.
Taking that first step can feel scary but I welcome you to get in touch with me and we can arrange a free consultation over the phone where we can - without commitment - talk through what you are looking for and work out if I am the right person for you.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
