About me

Hi my name is Carmel, l live in Leicestershire and work in private practice as a qualified Person Centred Counsellor. I  strive to work alongside my clients offering hope, healing and compassion all centred around my Christian belief and understanding which is foundational to my counselling practice. I am aware that the relationship between the counsellor and client is paramount and therefore by using active listening skills and providing a safe confidential space to talk, l hope my clients will feel heard, valued and understood. I have worked successfully with many clients with  different beliefs and cultures and without exception have treated them equally, respectfully and as unique individuals.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have significant experience of working within a domestic abuse service and am a trained bereavement counsellor.  I hold a CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, an Online, Telephone & Counselling Certificate and have completed a Bereavement Support Foundation Course. I know from experience that individual counselling can help with personal issues in life such a anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, addictions, relationship difficulties, bereavement and many others.  For this reason I see counselling as a vocation and I am passionate about helping others and making a difference to the lives of my clients.
