Halfway Tree - Carleen Bentley MSc
We are all unique and present a different range of issues requiring highly tailored types of therapy. As a BACP/UKCP registered/accredited, relational Integrative Psychotherapist, working predominantly in a humanistic way, I offer myself, my knowledge, and my life experience to an extensive range of clients, to encourage growth and healing. Basically, my main focus is you and whatever it is you need support with, from those listed opposite to your own unique and personal needs, this could be anything ranging from Anxiety Disorders and Family Related Issues to Phobias and gender identity, queer and sexual identity issues. I offer 20 years’ counselling experience providing support to individuals, in settings such as; ChildLine: working online and telephone counselling, working as a College Counsellor and as an NLP Coach providing structured counselling/life coaching.
I offer a range of psychotherapeutic interventions; I am a creative practitioner and can use movement, play, art and guided imagery to assist me in practice if required. I offer short and long-term psychotherapy in a relaxed, and professional environment where you can explore/learn about yourself, understand your thinking, feelings and behaviours.
I work to make mind, body and spiritual connections, enabling healing of many historic wounds, including trans-generational trauma. As a result, I have become more interested in Neuroscience and Neurobiology, the mind, and its connections to illness within the body, and how we can use them in relation to each other to promote healing and well-being.
I know it can be difficult to find the right therapist, which is why I offer an initial assessment to all potential clients, giving you the opportunity to see whether we’ll be compatible working together and for you to ask me any questions that you need, to be sure you've made the right choice.
Please contact me if you have any initial questions (by email, phone or text: whichever you prefer).
I really look forward to meeting you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an Integrative Psychotherapist, qualified (with Distinction, valedictorian), at Masters level. I trained in Nottingham, at The Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute, and can offer academic support to students studying Psychotherapy or completing similar research etc.
My research topic for my dissertation was 'exploring the use of the preverbal within the therapy room.'
Working with the 'inner child' and infant related trauma is something I am very interested in.
Helping my clients to heal buried wounds emerging in the here and now from childhood has proven to be immensely effective to promote healing and growth for the individual, especially those with anxiety and depression, chronic pain and addiction.
I am also registered with, and a member of the BACP and UKCP.
