About me

I am a qualified counsellor offering a confidential, safe and ethical space for my clients to use in order to explore the issues that bring them in to counselling. The reasons for choosing to look for a counsellor are wide ranging and I have supported people with common mental health problems such as anxiety and depression and also those who have suffered trauma and are left dealing with the resulting impact on themselves.

I work in an eclectic way using a variety of approaches and techniques because I feel not one approach fits all, meaning I tailor the way I work to the person in front of me according to what they need.

I am committed to supporting people to learn about themselves, their motivations and choices to develop their internal understanding and make positive changes to their lives.

I believe you are the expert on yourself and so I will stay alongside you in your journey through counselling, offering a genuine and accepting relationship.

I offer both long and short term therapy.

I have also worked previously as a tutor in Hertfordshire, teaching introduction and Level 2 CPCAB accredited courses.

I am a qualified Counsellor and a registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework.

My practice is based in Wootton, Bedfordshire.

Please feel free to give me a call or drop me an email so we can have a chat about what you are looking for in a counsellor and whether I am able to help.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, working from an Integrative approach. I have experience working with a wide range of clients but specifically supporting those affected by road death, trauma, domestic abuse, common mental health problems and substance misuse.

I have completed Levels 1 and 2 Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) training.

I am committed to furthering my own professional and personal development by attending training, regular clinical supervision and my own personal therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
