About me

Harley Street, London & Milton Keynes.

Hello, my names Carla. Thank you for taking the time to view my page.

Through life, we all can have periods of personal challenge. When facing times of crisis or on-going negative feelings and behaviours, the support of a professional counsellor and therapist can make all the difference to show that there can be a light at the end of the tunnel.

What happens in therapy?

With all of my new clients, my suggestion is we have an initial session and take it from there. In this session I can make sure I am the right therapist for you and this is the right therapy. It can often be baffling as there are so many modes of therapy out there. Also, most importantly, you can assess if I am the right therapist for you. At the end of the day, our shared goal is to ensure you are well and enjoying life as soon as possible.

My techniques are proven to help my clients as not only am I a specialist in relationship counselling for individuals and couples, but I am also a specialist in working with mental health problems. More often than not, the two are interlinked.

This skill set is a rare mix in a therapist, and means that together, we can look at the bigger picture and not only improve your mental health, but change all areas of your life and how you relate with the people in it; giving you the tools you need to grow, get well and remain well.

You are in safe hands

As an accredited member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy, an accredited member of the National Counselling Society and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I work to the highest standards of professionalism.

Governed by the strict codes of clinical practice, ethics and client confidentiality, my therapeutic approaches are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, Systemic and Short Term Brief therapy. Working with individuals and couples.

I am able to really understand your issues as not only am I highly qualified to work with pathological disorders, but I am also highly trained in couples counselling and relationship issues, and they very often go hand in hand.

You can get better, you don't have to feel this way. It is much easier to get help than you may think. If you hurt yourself, you see a doctor, if you struggle with your feelings, you see a therapist.

Get in touch to book an initial consultancy assessment to make sure you get the right therapist, and we can take it from there.

Testimonials of my clients...

Client A - Before coming to see Carla I felt hopeless, I had given up on everything. I would spend hours lying in bed doing nothing and missed countless days of school, I was falling behind on work and withdrawing from my friends and my family. Recognising that I was in such a bad place, I knew I needed someone to talk to and I definitely found the right person in Carla.

From the first session I felt at ease talking to her. Carla always listened attentively to every feeling and every worry. She allowed me to see that my feelings are justified, and taught me how to challenge and overcome persistent thoughts that put me down. Through processing with Carla, a weight from my shoulders was lifted, and by telling my story and explaining my feelings to her it has been liberating. I was able to identify the roots of my emotions and accept what has happened to enable me to move forward. In my experience not only have I come out the other side a happier, brighter and more optimistic person, I have also gained countless techniques on how to manage negative emotions in the future. Looking back to where I was 6 months ago the difference is immense, and I cannot imagine being that person now. Not only do I see it in myself, others around me notice it too, which is one of the most rewarding feelings.

I know that I did the right thing seeing Carla, and I am so glad I did it. It was by far the best thing I have done and I couldn’t have hoped for a better experience.

Client's B - “We argued constantly, we never laughed together, it was over.  As a last ditch attempt to save the marriage for the children’s sake, we saw Carla. That was five years ago, we are still going   strong!”       (Catherine and Mark)

Client C - “My life had got so small, I was no longer able to work, I had no social life. Terrible things had happened to me, I felt alone and scared with no way out.  My partner insisted I booked a consultation session, I am so glad I did, my life turned around”.
(Aarifah)

Client D - “I was in a traumatic car accident, I could not get the images out of my mind, they played over and over. I couldn’t work in the end, I stopped seeing friends and family, life was a nightmare.  Carla helped me put this behind me, I am now my old self, enjoying the life I use to”. (Theo)
