Carl Willis BA MSc
Many thanks for taking the time to visit my page. A bit about myself - I am a fully qualified and experienced counsellor, psychotherapist and supervisor here in Coventry. I have been counselling clients for nearly 12 years.
I have worked in different professions and held roles in a number of areas - ranging from adult education, supervision, lecturing and psychotherapy. I have worked for organisations such as the Priory and the NHS. My previous roles in education include Senior Lecturer for Counselling at BAES, Course Leader for Counselling and Course Director for a University.
I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist - which basically means I use a variety of techniques to help my clients deal with issues they may be experiencing. Integrative therapy interests me so much that I co-wrote a counselling degree course for a university.
The types of therapy I use are Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Cognitive Behavioural (CBT), Solution-Focused, strengths-based and Person centred approaches. It's about creating the most effective therapeutic approach for you. I can also integrate coaching and hypnotherapy into my practice.
I am currently a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), the NCP (National Council of Psychotherapists) and GHR (General Hypnotherapy Register).
Training, qualifications & experience
I am qualified to Masters degree level in Counselling Psychology which I obtained at Keele University.
I also have 3 diplomas in counselling and a certificate in Counselling Supervision. In addition to this I have undertaken various additional training courses in order to expand and develop my knowledge base and undertake regular and frequent CPD.
My experience to date has enabled me to work with a vast range of issues. I also have a particular expertise in working with relationship issues, anger, bullying, sexuality, LGBT, self-esteem, depression, identity and anxiety issues, as well as survivors of sexual abuse.
I have recently passed my Level 4 in Nutrition, MBTI practitioner, hypnotherapy and life-coaching qualifications and so I can integrate these into my counselling practice. I am currently studying for a specialised diploma in counselling children and young people. I can also offer nutrition advice and help clients with their weight loss and healthy eating goals.
