About me

Many thanks for taking the time to visit my page. A bit about myself - I am a fully qualified and experienced BACP registered counsellor and supervisor here in Coventry. I have been counselling clients for 11 years.

I have worked in different professions and held roles in a number of areas - ranging from adult education, supervision, lecturing and psychotherapy. Previous organisations I have worked for include the Priory and the NHS.

I am an integrative therapist - which basically means I use a variety of techniques to help my clients deal with issues they may be experiencing. Integrative therapy interests me so much that I have helped set up a degree course for Coventry university to help others pursue this form of counselling.

The types of therapy I use are Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Cognitive Behavioural (CBT), Solution-Focused, and Person centred approaches. It's about creating the most effective therapeutic approach for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am qualified to Masters degree level in counselling which I obtained at Keele University.

I also have 3 diplomas in counselling and a certificate in Counselling Supervision.  In addition to this I have undertaken various additional training courses in order to expand and develop my knowledge base and undertake regular and frequent CPD. My previous roles include Senior Lecturer for Counselling, Course Leader for Counselling and Course Director at Coventry University.

My experience to date has enabled me to work with a vast range of issues. I also have a particular expertise in working with relationship issues, anger, bullying, sexuality, LGBT, self-esteem, depression, identity and anxiety issues, as well as survivors of sexual abuse.

I have recently passed my MBTI practitioner, hypnotherapy and life-coaching qualifications and so I can integrate these into my counselling practice, here in Coventry and Nuneaton, if clients request these.

Fees

At my Coventry and Nuneaton practices, my fees are 45 pounds for 50 minutes of counselling.  Whilst working with students in a counselling or counselling supervision capacity, my knowledge of counselling courses can be valuable too. Occasionally I see clients from my home in Bedworth where I can offer a reduced rate.
