About me
I am a therapeutic counsellor and supervisor who is passionate about supporting others and helping them make sense of their problems. My approach is to work collaboratively and empathically with clients and supervisees, helping them to personally develop and work towards their own personal and professional goals. I have 20 years counselling experience .
On entering into our counselling relationship we will be working in a confidential, safe, friendly and non-judgemental supportive environment. I believe this will help you during the sometimes difficult process of speaking to someone new. Once our work begins you will see I am a warm, approachable, compassionate and experienced counsellor whose aim is to build a safe, non-directive relationship which will enable us to explore your difficulties. Together we will look at how you are managing your life and work towards how you would like your life to be. We will do this by supporting you to speak about your problems, understanding your behaviours, creating a desired life path and setting some realistic goals for you to work towards which will improve the quality of your life.
I work as an integrative counsellor which means I will use different theoretical approaches in our sessions which will include person-centred, CBT, TA and solution focussed therapy. My main theoretical orientation is humanistic and I am heavily influenced by Carl Rogers and his three core conditions of empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence. Our sessions will help you to develop your skills to become more self-aware and resilient which will enhance your confidence self-esteem and coping skills.
I have flexible working hours and work weekends upon request
I work remotely only via zoom, microsoft teams and telephone.

20 years experience of working within the youth setting and schools.
Extensive knowledge and experience of working with people on the autistic spectrum/learning difficulties and providing emotional support/guidance/harm reduction to people with substance misuse difficulties.
Experience in safeguarding/child protection issues, ensuring support is in place for young people/adults who may be at risk of harm from themselves or others.
Post-graduate diploma in consultative supervision which allows me to supervise counsellors working in a therapeutic environment and non therapists requiring supervision support for their chosen area of work. My work as a counsellor and supervisor has allowed me to gain experience within educational and organisational working environments covering work with children, young people and adults who are experiencing emotional difficulties.
I am fully insured, have monthly individual supervision with a BACP and BABCP accredited supervisor and have monthly group supervision

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Individuals: £50 per 50 minute session7
Supervision: £75 per 90 minute session.
