About me

My name is Candice,  I am a Counsellor and physcotherapist working with Children and young people.  I have experience working in a variety of settings including CAMHS, Primary and Secondary School, Mind Mental health and private practice.

I offer a calm, confidential, non judgemental therapy room where Children and young people can feel safe to be themselves and express their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement.

I work with Children facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship problems, parental separation, bullying, self harm, exam stress and more.

Children can find it difficult to put feelings into words, depending on the child or young persons age I use different therapy approaches including play therapy, art therapy, story telling and talking therapy.  This can help children and young people to express themselves fully.

How the sessions work;

1. Initial Consultation;

A free 15 minute phone call for you to talk about your concerns and ask initial questions.  We can then both decide weather to go ahead and arrange further sessions.

2. Therapeutic assessment

An initial meeting with myself, you and your child to discuss the therapy sessions.  This gives me a chance to get to know your child really well.  I will explore the current concerns in more depth and ask about your child's development at school and at home.  From here, we can then decide on a short term or long term therapy plan, sessions will be on a weekly basis.

Reviews

I will carry out a review every 6 weeks with both the parent and child to discuss the child's progress.

There are a great variety of counsellors all of whom have found their way to the profession through different personal journeys so I invite you to a free 15 minute consultation to see if I am the one for you.
