About me

My career has given me many years’ experience in helping people to think clearly during stressful times in their working and in their personal lives. You will find me welcoming, approachable, and committed to making you feel at ease. I am practical, solution-focused and naturally inclined towards short-term Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

'CBT’ is a practical, logical, and effective way of turning your negative and destructive thoughts into positive actions. It enables you to regain your sense of emotional balance and perspective.

My approach lends itself to dealing with a wide range of personal issues. These can typically include:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Low confidence and self esteem
  • Stress
  • Anger management
  • Relationship issues
  • Work-related issues
  • Loss and bereavement
  • OCD

Training, qualifications & experience

I have over 30 years' experience of working with people to resolve issues which impact upon their daily lives. Respect and confidence are critical ingredients to making progress and are central to the way I work.

My counselling experience is supported by my professional membership of the BACP. In addition, I have many years' experience of dealing with sensitive personal issues in the workplace.

Your confidence in my ability to help you is absolutely critical to your progress. For this reason, I offer a free, half-hour introductory meeting where I will tell you a little about me and the way I work. This will help you decide whether you wish to proceed with counselling. There is no obligation whatsoever for you to do so.

If you do decide to work with me, I normally charge £25 per meeting (which will last for up to an hour).
