Dr Boyana Stefanova, CPsychol
I am a Counselling Psychologist, registered with the the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a Chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). The title of Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol) reflects the highest standard of psychological knowledge and expertise.
I have experience of working with a variety of client groups, from children to older adults, and psychological difficulties, such as low self-esteem, stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, post-traumatic stress, trauma and complex trauma, sexual abuse, bereavement, substance misuse, phobias, disordered eating, obsessive-compulsive thought/behaviours and others. I recognise that there is not one “right” therapeutic model for alleviating distress. Therefore, my approach is based on your own individual needs - I work flexibly and collaboratively to find the best approach for you.
It might be difficult to talk to a stranger about your difficulties or about topics that seem quite personal. I aim to provide a safe non-judgemental environment where you will feel heard and understood. If you are struggling to understand how therapy might help you or what is the best approach to therapy for you, I offer a free initial 20 min phone consultation, which could be arranged by contacting me in advance.
