Jeannette Thompson - Body and Mind Therapy Centre
We all experience difficulties at some point in our lives. Most times, we are able to find a way through these difficulties and dilemmas. Sometimes, despite our best efforts, we can end up feeling overwhelmed, confused or stressed and not sure what to do. At times like this, counselling can be helpful. My passion is to help people work through these challenges – and to live positive, hopeful and happy lives.
I would be very happy to talk with you if you would like to discuss whether counselling could be helpful for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
Jeannette Thompson; BSc (Hons) Physiology & Biochemistry, Postgrad Diploma in Systemic Family Therapy
I have extensive experience of working with people who have had Depression, Stress, Traumatic Events & Experiences, Bereavement & Loss, Low Self-Esteem /Confidence, Family & Relationship Issues (including Separation, Divorce & Step Parenting Difficulties).
For 10 years, I worked in the NHS as a Family Therapist. working with distressed children, young people and their families. Since 2004, I have also had a private practice mainly working with adults and couples.
My approach is respectful, non-blaming and optimistic. I use a Brief Solution Focused Model as I find it so effective. This way of working builds on your strengths, resources and competencies - the abilities that have sustained you so far in your life but which at times are hard to access. My aim is for you to re-establish these abilities so that you can move towards your preferred goals and ambitions.
